For getting better!!!
Today is the end of this marking period. I have been studying in this class for nearly two mouthes. In the past two mouthes, I have done some of my goal. For example, I have done all my homeworks, and I have gone to all my calsses. However, I still have many things to improve. For intense, I did not work well in my quizes and tests. So, I think that I need to do more review on my test, and I need to go for more extra help to get a better grade on my quizes and tests.

Hard work
1. I think it means skin is good like a protector. It will heal you when you get hurts. For example, "heals over the scarred place, makes a road"
2. In my opinion skin is symbol for some persons who are helpful, kind, and warm. For example, doctors, nurses, friends, and parents. Those people will heal your scarred both on your body and in you heart.
4. I think this line means when you love someone, you live not only for yourself but also for the person who you love. "Breath" is the thing we do for living. In my opinion "countries" are not real countries. They are more like the world in everyone's head. So I think this line means that when we love someone, we would live in each other's "world" so we take care and live with each other.

A person who is knowledgeable but cannot read
I think she is a really kind person, because in the first stanza we can see that she helps goats to born a baby. She is helpful. As we can see, she always bake for others. She believes god so much, because she said that Allah is everywhere. As we know Allah is the god in the Islamic culture. She cannot read, however I still think she is nice person. She does not need to read, the only thing she should know is that how to live better in a small village. In fact she lives pretty well, and she even helps others.

A side of Arab you never see before: From a Arab author who lives in America
She choose 19 Varieties of Gazelle because she wants to tell us by using her own culture. I think that she wants to show us Arab people are kind and friendly. She is Arab, and she lived in America. So she has some special emotion and feeling about 9/11 as a Arab. So, let us see what is different, and what is the same.
I think she wants to tell us by using her own culture because of some examples that I found in the poetry. "It was never too strong for us: make it black, Papa" This is the first sentence in the poetry. As we can see, "Papa" "us" those words means the people who come from the place where she lived in which means she is talking about her own culture. "The coffee was the center of the flower." This one I think she talks about the coffee, because they have a lot of coffee in her hometown. She wants to tell people to remember the beautiful coffee and flower in their hometown.I think when people face to a huge argue that they cannot against with, they will think about their hometown where they born, and there also the place they will die. So, before people think about it, they will miss their hometown so much. Sometime, it would be a thing in their hometown like the coffee in Arab. So, she use the 19 varieties of gazelle. To tell people Arab is a nice country
I think that it shows us Arab people are friendly and brave because 2 examples. First one is that "It was never too strong for us:" as we can see, she think it was never too strong. We can know they are so strong. Because they are stronger than the disaster.I also think that she is encourage people to face to the problems. Another one is that a motion of faith. I can feel that strong emotion in the author's heart. Even though they get so many problems, they never forget their belief. I can feel that strong wish to be the right one. In fact they made it. They passed the hardest time, and they remember that forever. Just like Marjane in the Persepolis. She saw the war and the revolution, and she told this to the whole world as a person who born and lived in Iran. We should learn those power from them. Then we can help each other and save each other. I believe we will win, and all the terrorist cannot hurt us anymore.
To be honest, I lived in China, so I cannot understand 100%, but I can feel it as the same way. Because, people are same. I still could feel that emotion in my heart. We have to see everyone in the same way, people are good. But government is not always nice. I hope everyone in this world can find their lights of hope to stand up and fight back. To say we do not want to see anyone be hurt any more!

The we should always know: Truth
"One can forgive but one should never forget."---Marjane Satrapi This a sentence on the third page. I think this is the massage she is trying to convey. I think the mean of is that everyone should know the truth, even though it may be a bad crime. She tells us by three ways. The first is that she told all the real stories that we cannot know from the history book. The second one is that she is telling all of this by telling us the people around her. The last one is that she create a character god who is always say the truth.
What part is that we cannot see in the history book? I find two things in the book, that I have never see in the history book. The first one, It is about her grand father. At start her father was the king, but the king was in Iran when Majane was a child, he took the power from her grand father. Another one is that the government in Iran told young and poor boys that if they die in the world with the "gold key", they would go the the heaven. In fact, the gold key was made by plastic and they colored it gold.
The relationship between characters and the role they play are very interesting. For example, Marjane's father is the one who always teach Marjane the truth and protect her. Another instance is that her uncle told her about the politics , however she was a little girl. That tells us whatever you are old or young , male or female you should know the truth.
Last, I want to talk about the god. He is not a true man in the world, so why the author would create a unreal character? I think the character god is the way that author define justice and evil. As we know the character Marjane likes religon so much. So god is always right. Actually, god tells Marjane everything whatever good or bad. He just tells her the truth. This tells us we should never lie to anyone. We tell only the truth.

Final draft
Persepolis is a book that was written by Marjane Satrapi. She is a Iranian. This book
tells us about her childhood. She tells us the story about Islamic Revolution, the war
between Iran and Iraq, and the two government in Iran. I am interested in her father.
He is a very important character in the book. He has a mustache and short hair. He is
brave and kind. He is brave when he fights with the old government. He is friendly when he
takes care of his family. I think that he influenced Marjane to seek the truth, and he also
protected her from the bad things. That made Marjane and her father loved each other
so much. However how and why he would do that to Marjane, and how can we know that?
Marjane wants to know what is real and what is lies, because her father
influenced her a lot. At the start of the book everyone in Iran wanted to take the king
down, but one day, Marjane said that she loved the king, because he was chosen by
god.Her father was wondering why she would think that way. Then Marjane told him
that school told them the King was chosen by god and he was a good person. Then he
told her the truth that the king hurts her grand father a lot then he became the king. I
think when she heard this, she thought that school does not always tell the truth. That made
her feeling of knowing truth stronger and stronger.
Her father protected her so hard. For example, at the end of this book he sends Marjane
to study aboard. Because she always say somethings are not allowed to say that the
government did not want people to know, Marjane’s uncle has seen kids executed in the
street without even having been judged. He wanted Marjane to know more truth, but he
cannot tell her. Because the more secrets she knows the more danger she will get in.
That made he worried her a lot, so he send her to study aboard for her safety. That is a
really hard decision, because no one wants to see their children leave them, and they
cannot see them for a long time.
Her father loved her so much, because of two examples. The first one is that at
the start of the book her teacher told her parents that she said she wants to become a
prophet, but he said it does not matter at all. Another one is that at that time
periodgovernment did not allow anything about Punk showing in the public. But she
liked punk so much. Once her father would go abroad, and she asked her father to buy
some post and jacket about pun for her. He did even though it is illegal. He still found
the way that put the post in the coat and put the badge in the shoe.
To be honest, I want a father like him. He loved his child so much, and protect her from
all the bad things from her. The most important thing is that he taught her we should
know the truth. In the real world, some parents have a lot of business to work with, so
they don’t and cannot take care of their children very well. Some of them may just care
the grade that children get. But, we cannot learn everything in the school, and we
cannot make sure waht we are learning now is all the truth. So, we cannot become a
adult without learning from parents. How can we become a adult?

Book review
Recently, I am reading a book named Persepolis. This book is written by Marjane Satrapi. She is from Iran. This book tells us her childhood in Iran. This book made curious just like her when she was a children.
At the start she told us the situation before Islamic Revolution. During that time, everyone wanted took the king down. Then they had the revolution. Then the got a new government, and she told us this government was worse than the old one. She saw the whole thing. For example, her uncle told her a lot of truth even though she was a little girl. After that she been in the war between Iran and Iraq. That war was so bloody, a lots of young boys died because of new government. At the end she had to go to study abroad.
My favorite part of this book is that she tells us all truth. In the real life, especially some countries like Iran. Governments don't want everyone knows everything. So they don't allowed people tell the truth. Even in your own country you cannot know all truth in you country. So I am so surprised that she tells us the truth. For example, government in Iran told young boys that if they die in the war, they can go to the heaven, because government give them a plastic key colored gold. That was just like a big slauthter. I cannot believe they did. But it is truth. So, government don't want people to know. But everone deserve to know the truth. I Nieves you will like this book. Even though this is a sad story.
Persepolis is a amazing book. All people in the book just like the real person stand in front of you. All stories in the book will interest you and amaz you. I think we can learn a lot of deep meaning about our life, our countries, and our world. I suggest everone to read this book, if y out have free time.

Persepolis thesis
I like it because of three reasons. First this book tells us the truth. Second is the way that author showed us whole story. Last one is that the relationship between she and other characters. But, I don't like the ending of this book, and this is a sad story.
