A side of Arab you never see before: From a Arab author who lives in America

She choose 19 Varieties of Gazelle because she wants to tell us by using her own culture. I think that she wants to show us Arab people are kind and friendly. She is Arab, and she lived in America. So she has some special emotion and feeling about 9/11 as a Arab. So, let us see what is different, and what is the same.

I think she wants to tell us by using her own culture because of some examples that I found in the poetry. "It was never too strong for us: make it black, Papa" This is the first sentence in the poetry. As we can see, "Papa" "us" those words means the people who come from the place where she lived in which means she is talking about her own culture. "The coffee was the center of the flower." This one I think she talks about the coffee, because they have a lot of coffee in her hometown. She wants to tell people to remember the beautiful coffee and flower in their hometown.I think when people face to a huge argue that they cannot against with, they will think about their hometown where they born, and there also the place they will die. So, before people think about it, they will miss their hometown so much. Sometime, it would be a thing in their hometown like the coffee in Arab. So, she use the 19 varieties of gazelle. To tell people Arab is a nice country

I think that it shows us Arab people are friendly and brave because 2 examples. First one is that "It was never too strong for us:" as we can see, she think it was never too strong. We can know they are so strong. Because they are stronger than the disaster.I also think that she is encourage people to face to the problems. Another one is that a motion of faith. I can feel that strong emotion in the author's heart. Even though they get so many problems, they never forget their belief. I can feel that strong wish to be the right one. In fact they made it. They passed the hardest time, and they remember that forever. Just like Marjane in the Persepolis. She saw the war and the revolution, and she told this to the whole world as a person who born and lived in Iran. We should learn those power from them. Then we can help each other and save each other. I believe we will win, and all the terrorist cannot hurt us anymore.
To be honest, I lived in China, so I cannot understand 100%, but I can feel it as the same way. Because, people are same. I still could feel that emotion in my heart. We have to see everyone in  the same way, people are good. But government is not always nice. I hope everyone in this world can find their lights of hope to stand up and fight back. To say we do not want to see anyone be hurt any more!
